Usage
This template is used under the war diary heading of a unit or formation page if it is not yet known whether official war diaries exist. It does not usually need to be entered manually because it is preloaded in new pages by Template:Battalion.

This template has no parameters. It automatically adds the page to Category:Units needing official war diaries
- If you know the references of a unit's war diaries at the UK National Archives, please add them using Template:WarDiaryTNA.
- If you know that no war diaries exist for a unit or formation, please add Template:WarDiaryNone instead.
- If the page is for an administrative organisation, please add Template:WarDiaryNoneAdmin instead.
