Arthur John Moore Burrowes

From the State Library of New South Wales collection record:

'Arthur John Moore Burrowes, a soldier of Rooty Hill, New South Wales enlisted on 26 Mar. 1917 aged 39 years and embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A38 Ulysses on 19 Dec. 1917. He served with the 18th Battalion, 21st Reinforcement in France where he was wounded 8 Aug. 1918. He was treated in various hospitals in England before returning to Sydney on the HMT Takada, Feb.-Mar. 1919. He was in Randwick Military Hospital until the end of 1919, and lived until 1969'

Wilbert Nugent Berg (1132)

AWM Description: 'Collection relating to 1132 Sergeant Wilbert Nugent Berg, who served initially with the 18th Battalion AIF before transferring to the 61st Battatalion AIF. Comprises two small diaries kept by Sgt Berg during 1915 to 1916, and 65 original letters handwritten by Sgt Berg to his parents and sister in Australia, during 1915-1916. The letters cover the period of his troopship voyage to Egypt, training, service on and evacuation from Gallipoli, his service in France, and his hospitalization in England and repatriation to Australia. Also includes one official letter advising Sgt Berg's family of him being wounded.'
