Historian and palaeographer. I run Different Hand Ltd, doing manuscript transcription, XML markup, research assistance and related services. My PhD thesis and published work are on horses and cavalry in the English Civil War. I got into First World War research through tracing my great-grandad, who was in 1/5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. I was a moderator at Your Archives and used to blog at Investigations of a Dog.

- import and test Wikipedia citation templates: imported and seem to be working. No performance problems even with 40 instances of {{Cite book}} per page. Changed documentation pages to link to Wikipedia so we don't have to maintain documentation here and don't have to import all required templates and modules. Still need to:
- delete templates and modules created by imprts 10/4/16 from 17:26 to 17:38. Each needs to be checked to make sure that it wasn't there before.
- add links to FAQ and help
- update other Citation templates to pass data to Wikipedia templates
- add embarkation lists and various operational records to Official unit diaries and histories
