This template is used under the war diary heading of a unit or formation page if it is not yet known whether official war diaries exist. It does not usually need to be entered manually because it is preloaded in new pages by [[Template:Battalion]].

*If you know the references of a unit's war diaries at the UK National Archives, please add them using [[Template:WarDiaryTNA]].

*If the page is for an administrative organisation, please add [[Template:WarDiaryNoneAdmin]] instead.
